Whether you are a teacher, a parent, a student, or a veteran, we invite you to participate in the iHistory Project. We challenge you to get involved in connecting the past with the future by telling the stories of America’s World War II veterans. Their stories need to be remembered through us for future generations.

Educators

Educators are a key to making the iHistory Project a reality. If you teach students between the ages of 13 and 18, please tell them about this contest. You can promote the Project in your classroom and challenge students to learn about World War II through the YouTube contest. We offer resources on our For Educators pages to help you share the Project with the young people around you.

Parents

If you are a parent of a 13- to 18-year-old, you can encourage them to be involved with the iHistory Project. Parents and educators can offer general assistance in the interviewing and editing process with the goal of acting as support for the learning growth of the student. Parents who home school can also integrate the video contest into their curriculum to further the education of their teenagers.

Students

Students are the heart of the iHistory Project. Teenagers like you can bring veterans’ stories to life through video. You can start by grabbing a video camera and asking your teachers and friends to help connect you with a WWII veteran. We’ve also provided a host of resources for you to turn to during each step of production. Be sure to tell your friends to view and vote for your video once you submit it.

Veterans

America’s veterans have shaped the way our country functions today. Veterans can continue to mold the future by offering to tell their stories. If you are a veteran – or a veterans’ organization – contact your local middle school, high school, or home school organization to inform them about the Project and volunteer to be interviewed. You could also work with your grandchildren to get them involved in the iHistory Project.

A unique generation is passing away. Their stories need to be heard before it’s too late. Please take up the challenge and participate in the iHistory Project.
